Start with how your building is used.
School and daycare facilities bring together classrooms, staff areas, restrooms, entrances and spaces used for meals or activities. During a walkthrough, identify which areas need attention each visit and which tasks belong in a periodic cleaning plan.
School cleaning around classes and events
Share dismissal times, after-school programs, evening events and rooms that remain in use. Discuss a practical service window, access instructions and the tasks included in each visit. Periodic floor care and window cleaning can be reviewed separately.
Daycare and preschool cleaning with clear boundaries
Explain the ages served, room uses, nap and activity schedules, and any areas or items staff will continue to handle. Identify frequently touched surfaces and your facility’s product restrictions. Toy cleaning, food-contact surfaces, bodily-fluid cleanup and other special tasks should be discussed explicitly before they are included in the proposal.
Agree on products, access and responsibilities
Before service begins, review surface compatibility, product instructions, storage arrangements, keys or alarms, and restricted areas. Share any facility-specific procedures and contractor requirements so they can be reviewed during scoping. The written proposal should distinguish routine cleaning from any specifically requested sanitizing or disinfecting tasks.
Plan periodic work during breaks
Use school breaks or other available windows to discuss more detailed cleaning, floor work or interior painting. Access, preparation, timing and included work are confirmed for each project.
